It's almost time to experience this.

With the Violet Evergarden the Movie was originally planned for a January 10th, 2020 date before eventually being given a September 18th, 2020 debut, the film is continuing to now make inroads with overseas markets. With various home video releases making their way out there, Netflix recently revealed their plans to add the film to their slate as well. The property page was recently updated from just being a reminder page to listing an October 13th, 2021 date for it. A trailer for it was put together as well, though it slipped by me, but we’re getting caught up on that and have added it below as it showcases a really great tone to draw people in with.

We’ll expect the basic language options being made available when it goes live and cover it if there are options beyond the usual Japanese and English ones.

Taichi Ishidate directed the TV series and film with Akiko Takase serving as the character designer and chief animation director. Reiko Yoshida worked on the series composition for the show and the screenplay for the film.

The Japanese cast includes Takehito Koyasu as Claudia Hoggins, Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert Bougainvillea, Aya Endou as Cattleya Baudelaire, Kouki Uchiyama as Benedict Blue, Haruka Tomatsu as Iris Canary, and Minori Chihara as Erica Brown.

The theme song for the film will be “WILL” by TRUE. For the TV series, TRUE performed the opening theme “Sincerely” for it and Chihara performed the ending theme song “Michishirube.”

The light novel came from writer Kana Akatsuki and had illustrations by Akiko Takase.

Plot Concept: “Auto Memories Doll.” It’s already been a long time since that name was first popularized. It’s a machine that Dr. Orlando created that talks in a natural voice. At first, he only made it to help out his loving wife, but before long they spread out into the world. and companies were made to lend them out. “I’m Violet Evergarden, the Auto Memories Doll who will rush to provide service anywhere you wish.“ That translucent voice comes from a robotic beautiful girl with blonde hair and blue eyes like she came out of a storybook.
