Pine cones for everyone!

Thoughtful but misguided.

What They Say:
The property focuses on a woman who is getting on in years, but all her cats think she’s a man so they call her Ojii-chan. One day a brazen cat named Tsushima appears in Ojii-chan’s yard.

While Tsushima is the type of cat that you think doesn’t think of others all that much, he really does pay attention. The show opens with the old lady talking about struggling finances at this point and the need for money, which he interprets as things that make her happy. Thinking of pine cones, he heads outside to grab a bunch and bring back, which includes some decidedly non-pine cone things as well. The problem is that the smell of it all gets to the old lady while she’s dreaming and it reminds her of the cat affectionately known as Prince that means so much to her. It’s nicely done in building that emotion but also the sadness of them not being around.

In Summary:
This show continues to be a lot of fun and I really like seeing the way that Tsushima shows empathy from time to time and is concerned and caring toward the old lady. It’s cutely done and I like the dream/flashback piece that says a lot about the old lady and how she cares for so many cats over the years and really is a good person. It’s a delightful little diversion once again.
