The property focuses on a woman who is getting on in years, but all her cats think she’s a man so they call her Ojii-chan. One day a brazen cat named Tsushima appears in Ojii-chan’s yard.

With this episode, al little something new enters the picture as there’s another cat that the old lady takes care of named Chaa. Chaa doesn’t come around often, usually just when certain things seem to happen with birds, but that’s what gets him to come back and get a little attention, food, and more from the old lady. Tsushima doesn’t particularly care for Chaa and is fairly dismissive of him which plays out in a cute manner here as we see how Chaa gets fed, gets belly rubs, and is just kind of there all while not reacting all that much when you get down to it. Of course, we see at the end just how much of a doofus this cat is when he encounters a new round of birds.
In Summary:
With so much focus on Tsushima for the show, as expected, it was nice to get a bit more attention elsewhere and Chaa certainly provides something different. There’s not much personality or anything else that really drives you to them but there are cute moments to be had and Tsushima’s reactions are spot on what they need to be for such a creature.
