The anime adaptation of the In the Land of Leadale novels is in the works and we got some solid details for it with the main staff back in the beginning of March 2021. With the show picked up by Crunchyroll recently and set up for a January 2022 premiere, the official site has now rolled out a new key visual below and a new promo. Additionally, we got the main cast with:
- Eri Yukimura as Cayna
- Daisuke Ono as Skargo
- Kaori Nazuka as Mai-Mai
- Tomokazu Sugita as Kartatz
Takeyuki Yanase is on board to direct the project based on the scripts being written and supervised by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Toshihide Masudate, Eri Kojima, and Kaho Deguchi are handling the character designs for it with MAHO FILM handling the animation production.
The property comes from writer Ceez and artist Tenmaso which began in January 2019 and has six volumes out as of March 8th, 2021. They all clock in around just under 400 pages each.

Plot Concept: The last thing she can remember is her life support beginning to fail. Her body had suffered terribly after a fateful accident and the only freedom left in her life came from the VR world of Leadale. How did she end up in a place that looks exactly like her game except that 200 years have apparently gone by?
