2 min read

With Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki setting themselves up at Netflix for a bit with several projects, the second one launched just about a year ago with the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 project. The series was planned as a two-cour run with twelve episodes for each season and now the first season is getting some new attention. Bandai has now scheduled the Japanese home video release with plans for a complete box set on November 26th, 2021. It’ll have the twelve-episode run and include English subtitles with it. With Japanese audio only, it’ll be in 5.1 and come with a log book and an art book plus a bonus disc with all the extras. That includes a making-of, the Special Program prior to its debut, the clean opening, closing, promos, and trailers.

Property Concept: Deep into the twenty-first century, the line between man and machine has been inexorably blurred as humans rely on the enhancement of mechanical implants and robots are upgraded with human tissue. In this rapidly converging landscape, cyborg superagent Major Motoko Kusanagi is charged to track down the craftiest and most dangerous terrorists and cybercriminals, including “ghost hackers” who are capable of exploiting the human/machine interface and reprogramming humans to become puppets to carry out the hackers’ criminal ends.
