AnimeLab Rebrands As Funimation

1 min read
From next week, AnimeLab will begin to merge with Funimation, bringing more ways to stream your favourite anime content!

This has been expected since we saw Manga Entertainment in the UK rebrand as Funimation (or, on social, FunimationUK) as the Australian streaming service AnimeLabl has now rebranded to Funimation (or, on Social, FunimationANZ). Funimation had brought this streaming service under its banner awhile ago internally as Sony Pictures continues to solidify its overseas anime holdings under the Funimation brand, which is really the strongest of the ones out there that they have.

The AnimeLab service will transition on June 17th, 2021 and will retain the same team behind the scenes but all the social and branding will change to the FunimationNow brand and logo.

Additionally, more consolidation to the main Funimation site is happening as the AnimeLab blog will be ending and news posts will be done through the Funimation blog.

The real fun will come in the future as we see how things will unfold when Funimation and Crunchyroll figure out how that acquisition will be handled once all approvals are in from regulatory services.
