Netflix Schedules ‘Black Summer’ Second Season With Teasers

Back to the 'burbs with the zombies.

While the Z-Nation series is not something I got into, I really enjoyed the prequel series that Netflix put on with Black Summer. Focusing more on the initial hours of the outbreak and chaos through suburbia and the way it unfolds is definitely fascinating to watch and the first season built well to some intense action in the city.

At the end of 2019, Netflix has confirmed that the second season will begin production in Canada next year with Jaime King coming back for it. Then the pandemic happened and things basically just got real quiet. This had to be one of the quieter productions of recent years, even for COVID-19, that I can remember. Now, Netflix has revealed that the series will drop on June 17th, 2021 and they’ve put out a trio of quick-hit teasers below.

Plot Concept: Set in the dark, early days of a zombie apocalypse, BLACK SUMMER stars Jaime King as Rose, a mother torn from her daughter who embarks upon a harrowing journey to find her. Thrust alongside a small group of American refugees, these complete strangers must find the strength they need to fight their way back to loved ones. But in order for Rose and her team to brave this hostile new world, they will need to make brutal decisions to contend with zombies – and each other.
