Edward Norton Boards ‘Knives Out’ Sequel

Where in the world is Benoit Blanc?

One of my favorite recent movies was the Knives Out piece since it was filmed in my area – a rarity overall – and there’s always that enjoyment of seeing places you go within it. With a strong cast and a director that I like a lot in Rian Johnson, the promise of more has kept me interested in seeing where it goes.

We learned in early April that Netflix had secured the rights for two sequels and are moving forward with that. The first film was a one-off through Lionsgate where it was $40 million to make and earned over $300 million worldwide. Netflix is producing two sequels to it with Rian Johnson returning to direct and has already written the sequels for it.

Now, the second installment in the series is starting to take shape with a little bit of casting. Edward Norton has joined the project according to Deadline, where similar to others joining we have no idea what the role is as no storyline has been outlined. Norton, as noted, has been selective in his roles the last few years and comes off his most recent directing gig himself with Motherless Brooklyn.

The cast includes Daniel Craig reprising his role as Benoit Blanc as well as new additions with Dave Bautista and Edward Norton. The original film had a strong cast to it and it’s expected a lot of actors are interested in joining this project as well when production begins this summer in Greece.

Check out our review of the first film.

Original plot: A detective and a trooper travel to a lush estate to interview the quirky relatives of a patriarch who died during his 85th birthday celebration.
