With a sixth season of Lucifer getting the green light and in the process of wrapping up filming for a lot of folks, the fifth season is getting some new attention. The season is made up of sixteen episodes overall with the first half debuting back on August 21st, 2020 and the back half to come later with that date to be announced. It’s taken a long time to get to that announcement because of the pandemic but Netflix has now confirmed a May 28th, 2021 arrival for the final half of the fifth season.
At 77 episodes through five seasons, Lucifer would be one of the longest-running Netflix original series by including the original Fox-run episodes, which is a bit of a cheat but we’ll allow it. No date for the fifth season start has come yet but it’s expected for this spring.
The series stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, Lauren German as Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Dan Espinoza, Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez, D.B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, Rachael Harris as Linda Martin, Graham McTavish as Father Kinley and Inbar Lavi as Eve.
Plot Concept: Reeling from the aftermath of Chloe seeing his devil face, Lucifer faces a new challenge: Eve, the original sinner herself, is back. Does she want revenge for when he tempted her out of Eden oh so many years ago… or something else entirely?
