Kadokawa Schedules ‘Bungō Stray Dogs Ruff!’ Spinoff Anime DVD/BD Releases

The winter 2021 anime adaptation of the Bungo Stray Dogs spinoff work with Bungo Stray Dogs Ruff! is getting its home video release handled by Kadokawa and they’ve set some standard plans for it. With the episodes clocking in at ten minutes each, the twelve-episode series is being released in two separate volumes on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVDs are priced at 8,000 yen each while the Blu-rays are priced at 9,000 yen each. They’re set for a March 24th, 2021 and April 28th, 2021 release where each set comes with a booklet, bonus drama CD, and the clean ending along with promos and commercials split between the two.

It was directed by Satonobu Kikuchi based on the scripts from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Hiromi Daimi is adapting the character designs and Bones is handling the animation promotion.

The Japanese cast includes Yūto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Sumire Morohoshi as Kyōka Izumi, Kensho Ono as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Kishō Taniyama as Chūya Nakahara, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa, Yu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirō Tanizaki, Chiaki Omigawa as Naomi Tanizaki, Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa, Mitsuru Miyamoto as Ōgai Mori, and Sora Amamiya as Elise.

The manga comes from Kanaineko which was launched in 2015 and has six volumes out as of the end of 2019.

Funimation has released the main TV series work on home video while Yen Press has brought the main manga out in English.

The series will feature the ending theme song “Namae wo Yobu yo” by Atsushi Nakajima.
