Disney has their next animated feature coming up on March 5th, 2021 with Raya and the Last Dragon set for both Disney+ and theatrical exhibition where available. We had a teaser for it previously but now the first full trailer has now landed for it to get pumped about. The film comes from directors Don Hall and Carlos Lopez Estrada working from the screenplay by Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim.
The cast for the film so far includes:
- Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, a fearless and passionate warrior in search of the last dragon.
- Awkwafina as Sisu, a water dragon who can transform into a human being and is the last of her kind.
Plot Concept: Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
