A Happy Birthday With A New ‘Dr. Stone’ Anime Clip

The summer 2019 anime series Dr. Stone is moving right along and Crunchyroll is doing their part to promote it as the simulcast and simuldub go along with clips from the show. In an effort to reconnect a bit before the new season starts up, Crunchyroll now has a new clip from the twenty-second episode of the first season where the village throws Senku a surprise birthday party!

Shinya Iino directed the series based on the series composition by Yuichiro Kido. Yuko Iwasa handled the character designs for it.

The English dub is directed by Clifford Chapin based on the scripts by Tyler Walker. The main cast includes Aaron Dismuke as Senku Ishigami, Ricco Fajardo as Taiju Oki, Brittany Lauda as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Felecia Angelle as Kohaku, and Ian Sinclair as Tsukasa Shishio.

The Japanese cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Gen Sato as Chrome, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen, and Mugihito as Kaseki.

Plot Concept: One fateful day, all of humanity turned to stone. Many millennia later, Taiju frees himself from the petrification and finds himself surrounded by statues. The situation looks grim—until he runs into his science-loving friend Senku! Together they plan to restart civilization with the power of science!

When every human on Earth is turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon, high-schooler Taiju is also petrified the moment he’s about to confess to his high-school crush. Flash forward several thousands of years later, Taiju awakens and joins up with his friend Senku, who has ambitious dreams. His plan: to restart civilization from square one with the power of science!
