What They Say:
“BREAK THROUGH THE SEA MONSTER BARRICADE”

Taichi has fallen down to the ocean below Cloud Continent with Leomon and the others. Powerful, new Digimon attack them one after another. Meanwhile, Koshiro’s side tries carry out a counterplan to bring the unresponsive ships under control.

The never-ending trip in the sky is finally over and the show is about to move on. But before anything happens, it’s about time for the Digimon to eat. They have been having lackluster battles after battles without any time to rest or eat.

The circle of life is one of the most important things you have to learn in biology class. Or if you watch Lion King, then you know that part of that is that the strong survive by preying on the weak. Ebidramon fights against Seadramon to determine dominance over the sea. Seadramon eats Ebidramon and digivolves to be king of the seven seas. If you learned about the circle of life, then you won’t be as confused as Taichi and Yamato when they witness how the circle of life works.

Greymon, Garurumon, and Leomon team up against Waruseadramon. They make an efficient team and pulverize him. Waruseadramon isn’t going to take this calmly and calls his friends by saying there is food on the island. He wants to put them in their place and that means his and his buddies stomachs. Patamon warns Taichi and Yamato that these Digimon are the ultimate level. But they don’t bother to digivolve their Digimon to their ultimate level. I’m baffled as to why they don’t do it. They have been able to do it at will and they choose now not to do it. Instead, Taichi gets the bright idea to tell Yamato to run with Takeru. They could have fought if they choose to use their ultimate forms.

I have been wanting this show to promote Koshiro, Sora, Joe, and Mimi at least a little bit more. They got relegated to the human world. At the very least they’re dealing with a dangerous situation at hand. But it very filler and it just seems like an excuse to have them do small feats. It doesn’t have the same gravity as the Tokyo outage. Koshiro is doing the most behind his computer and explaining the technical terms sailors use out in the sea. They finally are given a chance to do something beneficial. Koshiro comes up with a plan to take back control of the ship’s navigational system and avoid a worldwide catastrophe. Kairi hears voices that someone is calling out to her. She and the others are transported to the Digital World. They save Taichi from his perilous situation in the deep sea.

In Summary:
After weeks of lackluster episodes, Digimon shows signs of life again. It isn’t perfect but it’s a step up from prior episodes. The full cast has been reunited and hopefully, other characters besides Taichi and Yamato can get some of the limelight. It was a bit too convenient how Sora, Joe, Koshiro, and Mimi get sent back to the Digital World. But hopefully, they can contribute to the show. This has been a constant issue for the show but I wish they would focus more on how levels make a difference in battle.
