“To Tomorrow!”

What They Say:
In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any. At the age of fifteen, both receive grimoires, magic books that amplify their holder’s magic. Asta’s is a rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic that negates and repels his opponent’s spells. Being opposite but good rivals, Yuno and Asta are ready for the hardest of challenges to achieve their common dream: to be the Wizard King. Giving up is never an option!

The last episode was pretty great. I wonder what this week has in store for us…and it’s recap. Well, fudge sticks. On the bright side, at least it was a wholesome recap episode. It’s that time of year again. The Magic Knights Entrance Exam is upon us! Before you get too excited, no, we don’t actually get to see much of this exam. Bummer, I know. This episode isn’t really about that though. Asta and Noelle really wanted to watch the exam to remind themselves of how hard they worked to get to where they are right now. It’s been a whole year since they took the exam. Time sure does fly by, huh?

Basically, we get a whole bunch of flashbacks from when Asta and Noelle took the exam. Nozel and Noelle have a nice moment. Noelle remembers how cold her brother was during the exam. But looking back at it, she realizes that he was just being kind in his own way. Nozel believes Noelle will get even stronger. Heartwarming! Asta and Yuno have a cool moment where they remind each other that they still plan on becoming the next Wizard King. There was also a hilarious moment where Asta gets swarmed by the anti-magic birds, haha. That never gets old. And that’s basically the whole episode. The Black Bulls didn’t even gain any new members after the exam. That’s a shame. Oh well, there’s always next time! On a side note, I really liked the ending images for this episode. In Summary:
After last week’s amazing episode, I knew something had to give. That’s why this recap episode wasn’t shocking to me. You can’t fool me, Black Clover! At least the episode was enjoyable. I hope the animators are getting enough rest because I want to see their A-game when the battle with the Spade Devil finally kicks off. Hmm, what else can I say? I hope the action picks up again next week!
