The next project for the Strike Witches franchise is a sequel of sorts to the Strike Witches 501st Unit, Taking Off! anime adaptation. Going under the name World Witches Take Off!, it brings back the staff from the previous work for this one but will focus on the 501st and the 502nd group, which makes up the Brave Witches property. We knew previously that it was set for a 2021 debut and will likely be the same 10-minute style shorts. Now, the official site has updated with a new key visual that you can see below and that the show has been set for a January 2021 debut for it. It also confirms the shorter running time than standard, which will be between 10-15 minutes each.
Fumio Ito directed based on the series composition by Shinya Murakami. The anime production was handled by acca effe and Giga Production, with Production I.G and Anime Beans involved. Kenji Anjiki handles the series composition for it.
The Japanese cast includes Misato Fukuen as Yoshika Miyafuji, Saori Seto as Mio Sakamoto, Kaori Nazuka as Lynette Bishop, Miyuki Sawashiro as Perrine-H. Clostermann, Rie Tanaka as Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mie Sonozaki as Gertrud Barkhorn, Sakura Nogawa as Erica Hartmann, Chiwa Saito as Francesca Lucchini, Ami Koshimizu as Charlotte E Yeager, Mai Kadowaki as Sanya V. Litvyak, and Ayuru Ōhashi as Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen,
The project comes from Makoto Fujibayashi’s manga that ran in 2012 as a four-panel series with a couple of volumes to its name and some additional incarnations later on.
