The plans for Io Sakisaka’s manga series Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare wrapped up last spring and went about launching into both a live-action and anime feature film track. The anime feature was set for a May 29th, 2020 debut while the live-action film is set for an August 2020 debut. It’s no surprise that the anime feature film was pulled from the schedule with plans for it to debut later in the year when it can be rescheduled with dates revealed then. The live-action film saw an August 14th, 2020 debut and we recently learned that the anime feature has been set for a September 18th, 2020 debut.

With everything coming together in that regard, a special bit has surfaced through the official site that the four leading live-action cast members are making cameos in the anime film. It looks like actors Takumi Kitamura and Eiji Akaso will pay high school boys visiting the school during the cultural festival and the film that’s shown then will have Minami Hamabe and Riko Fukumoto voice Chiyo and Ayuko playing some of the characters in the film-within-a-film.

The film has Tomihisa Kuroyanagi directing based on the screenplay by Erika Yoshida. Yuu Yamashita is handling the character designs with A-1 Pictures handling the animation production.

The full anime cast includes Marika Suzuki as Yuna Ichihara, Megumi Han as Akari Yamamoto, Sōma Saitō as Kazuomi Inui, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Rio Yamamoto, Kikuko Inoue, Hideyuki Tanaka, Aya Hisakawa, Kazuhiko Inoue, Shun Horie, Ayane Sakura, Kikuko Inoue and Hideyuki Tanaka play Akari’s parents, Aya Hisakawa and Kazuhiko Inoue play Yuna’s parents, and Shun Horie and Ayane Sakura as classmates.

BUMP OF CHICKEN will be performing the theme song for the film.

Takahiro Miki is directing the live-action film and A-1 Pictures is working on the anime film. The cast for the live-action film includes Eiji Akaso as Kazuomi, Minami Hamabe as Akari, Riko Fukumoto as Yuna, and Takumi Kitamura as Rio.

Plot Concept: Two girls whose stances on love are polar opposites; Yuna wants a love that’s like a dream. Akari thinks she can become better at love and is very realistic in her approach. The two heroines’ stories unfold beside two male main characters. Kazuomi doesn’t understand love. He asks, “What’s that, something tasty?” On the other hand, Rio won’t reject anyone who comes his way, as long as that person is cute.
