Marvel Cancels ‘Black Cat’ Series

2 min read

Marvel Comics has revealed with the release of the twelfth issue of Black Cat that the series is over. Even though they previously solicited for a thirteenth issue that’s detailed below. The current series isn’t the end of the character to be sure as she’s been around forever and a day, but an upcoming event has made it clear that she’ll be in it with the King in Black storyline. That’s being run by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman.

This series was one of several that went through various scheduled/delayed/rescheduled steps due to the pandemic but the lack of clarity about what was happening with the property made it clear to many that the series wasn’t long for this world.

CAT VS. CAT! Lily Hollister has been through a lot. Her dad was district attorney, she was engaged to Harry Osborn, she found her future father-in-law’s Goblin stash and accidentally turned herself into Menace, sided with the Green Goblin and his Goblin Nation and ended up with amnesia and a leased super hero identity, “Queen Cat.” Whew. Like we said, A LOT. But she’s turning over a new leaf.
Queen Cat is a super hero, and every good super hero needs an archenemy. HER target? Felicia Hardy, A.K.A. the Black Cat.
This may not go well. 32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99
