The latest Aikatsu series is underway with Aikatsu on Parade which began on October 5th, 2019. The Japanese home video side is once again being handled by Happinet and they’ve now solicited the second home video release. The first box set arrived on April 2nd, 2020 as a Blu-ray set priced at 14,500 yen and now we’re focused on the second set. It’ll contain the first thirteen episodes of the series and is now planned for an August 5th, 2020 debut, priced the same and includes the next thirteen episodes. That set now has its full packaging spread available in addition to the previously revealed artwork and hasn’t indicated any street date changes yet from the pandemic.
The show has Shishi Igarashi directing based on the scripts from Yuuko Kakihara. Satomi Watabe is handling character designs with NN Pictures handling the animation production.
The cast includes Rin Aira as Raki Kiseki as the new lead as well as Akane Matsunaga as Aine Yūki (Aikatsu Friends!), Ibuki Kido as Mio Minato (Aikatsu Friends!), Sumire Morohoshi as Ichigo Hoshimiya (Aikatsu!), Shino Shimoji as Akari Ōzora (Aikatsu!), and Miyu Tomita as Yume Nijino (Aikatsu Stars!).
Plot concept: Kiseki is a second-year middle school student who transfers to Star Harmony Academy to become an idol. However, when she uses an Aikatsu Pass she received from her big sister (an Aikatsu engineer), something mysterious happens. Lots of doors appeared before her, and when she opens them, she meets Aikatsu idols she never knew before, such as Yume Nijino (Aikatsu Stars!). Raki vows to design her own premium dress and perform in it on stage.
