We learned back in the summer of 2018 with the fifth volume of So I’m a Spider, So What? that an anime adaptation of the property was in the works. With Crunchyroll picking it up for a January 2021 debut, Yen Press handles the distribution of the light novels and manga in English and have a really good new piece regarding the property.
They’ve put together a 30-minute Q&A piece with Okina Baba that’s read by editor Ivan Liang and translator Jenny McKeon that covers a lot of ground about the book, its origins, and more. It’s a good way to bring some fun material out for fans of the property.
You can watch the video below for it but if you’re not a video watcher, Yen Press has thankfully posted a text version of it as well here.
It comes from the novels by Okina Baba and Tsukasa Kiryu. The manga adaptation is produced by Asahiro Kakashi.

Plot Concept: I’m gonna survive, just watch me!
I was your average, everyday high-school girl, but now I’ve been reborn in a magical world…as a spider?! Wait–this isn’t how these stories are supposed to go! Can I get a do-over? …No? But how am I supposed to survive in this big, scary dungeon as one of the weakest monsters? It’s “every spider for herself” in here! I gotta figure out the rules to this QUICK, or I’ll have to kiss my short second life goodbye…
