Originally talked about way back in September 2018, the Akudama Drive anime series from Too Kyo Games and Studio Pierrot revealed in March that it was on track for a July 2020 debut with the promo they brought out. That ended up getting yanked as the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the show was rescheduled to a fall 2020 debut. Now, Funimation has announced via Twitter that they’ll be bringing out the show for simulcast then. .
The series is directed by Tomohiro Taguchi with Yoshifumi Sasahara as the assistant director. Norimitsu Kaiho is handling the scripts while Cindy H. Yamauchi is working on adapting Rui Komatsuzaki’s designs. Studio Pierrot is handling the animaton production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Tomoyo Kurosawa as Ordinary Person (Ippanjin)
- Yuichiro Umehara as Courier (Hakobiya)
- Shunsuke Takeuchi as Brawler (Kenkaya)
- Shun Horie as Hacker
- Megumi Ogata as Doctor (Isha)
- Subaru Kimura as Hoodlum (Chinpira)
- Takahiro Sakurai as Cutthroat (Satsujinki)
