One series that’s very much a classic title that definitely still makes me laugh a whole lot is Great Teacher Onizuka, aka GTO. The series was originally released by TOKYOPOP before eventually ending up in Discotek Media’s hands. They’ve got a full DVD collection available and now the folks at RetroCrush are coming up with some extended clips for it. This one shows off a shorter four-minute clip from the second episode where Onizuka gets to deal with saving the day with Uchiyamada, only for it to shift gears suddenly.

The series originally ran back in 1999 and 2000. What we get here is available for free viewing through the service and I believe it’s available through their app as well.

The series is available to audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

Onizuka sensei will never give in to uppity brats…

Plot concept: Meet Eikichi Onizuka, a 22-year-old ex-biker and college karate champ. He’s crude, foul-mouthed, and has a hair-trigger temper. His goal: to be the greatest high school teacher in the world! Unfortunately, the only teaching job available is at Holy Forest Academy (no certification required). There he uses his street smarts to deal with colleagues and students alike.
