‘Blast of Tempest’ Anime Finally Heads Out-Of-Print

Another older Aniplex USA series heads out of print.

Aniplex USA brought out the two-cour series Blast of Tempest back in 2013 and 2014 and it saw, unfortunately, only DVD releases. The show didn’t get much attention since then but it’s now been revealed through retailer updates that the property in regards to home video is now out of print. You can still find copies on secondary retail sites and the series is currently still available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

Originally airing in 2012, the series was directed by Masahiro Ando base don the series composition by Mari Okada. Tsunenori Saito worked on the character designs with BONES handling the production of the anime.

The Japanese cast includes Kouki Uchiyama as Yoshino Takigawa, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mahiro Fuwa, Hirofumi Nojima as Junichirō Hoshimura, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Tetsuma Kusaribe, Junichi Suwabe as Natsumura Kusaribe, Kana Hanazawa as Aika Fuwa, Miyuki Sawashiro as Hakaze Kusaribe, Nana Mizuki as Evangeline Yamamoto, Rikiya Koyama as Samon Kusaribe, Shintarō Asanuma as Takumi Hayakawa, and Yuuki Kaji as Megumu Hanemura.

With the first cour, the opening song is “Spirit Inspiration” by Nothing’s Carved in Stone and the ending song is “Daisuki na noni (Even though I love you)” by Kylee. With the second cour, the opening song is “happy endings” by Kana Hanazawa while the ending song is “Bokutachi no Uta (Our Song)” by Sako Tomohisa.

Plot concept: The Kusaribe family is a family of sorcerers under the protection of the ‘Tree of Origins.’ Their princess, Hakaze Kusaribe, was the greatest sorceress of their family. But Samon Kusaribe, a member of their family seeking to resurrect the ‘Tree of World’s End,’ a tree that opposes the ‘Tree of Origins’ and controls the power of destruction, stuffs her into a barrel, and banishes her to a deserted island.
