The final film in the trilogy with Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. spring song was set for a spring 2020 Japanese debut as it was oringally planned for a March 28th, 2020 debut before being pushed back to an April 25th, 2020 debut in the opening weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic. While at the time it seemed like things in Japan weren’t shaping up to be too bad and dates being moved, the change in the stance of the government in closing down more places has resulted in the film now being put on indefinitely delayed status until such a time as that theaters open again. North American releases were pulled from the schedule for the first two films recently as well as theaters closed down across the US and Canada.

The film is directed by Tomonori Sudou based on the screenplay by Akira Hiyama with Sudou serving as the chief animation director at ufotable.

The Japanese cast for the film includes Noriko Shitaya as Sakura Matō, Ayako Kawasumi as Saber, Jouji Nakata as Kirei Kotomine, Kana Ueda as Rin Tohsaka, Mai Kadowaki as Illyasviel von Einzbern, Miki Itou as Taiga Fujimura, Noriaki Sugiyama as Shirō Emiya, Yuu Asakawa as Rider, Atsuko Tanaka as Caster, Fumie Mizusawa as Ayako Mitsuzuri, Hiroshi Kamiya as Shinji Matō, Junichi Suwabe as Archer, Masaki Terasoma as Souichirou Kuzuki, Masane Tsukayama as Zōken Matō, Mitsuaki Madono as Issei Ryuudou, Nobutoshi Canna as Lancer, Rikiya Koyama as Kiritsugu Emiya, Shinichiro Miki as Assassin, Tadahisa Saizen as Berserker, Tetsu Inada as True Assassin, and Tomokazu Seki as Gilgamesh.
Plot Concept: The project deals with Sakura Matou, the younger sister by blood to Rin Tohsaka, but when she was young, Sakura was sent to the Matou household as an adopted daughter. There, she was given torturous training in order to give her powerful magic powers. Sakura was not supposed to enter the Holy Grail War, but due to her getting into a romantic relationship with Shirō, the passion hidden within herself and her mental restraints go berserk.
