Madman Schedules ‘SSSS.Gridman’ Anime DVD/BD & LE Releases

The fall 2018 anime series SSSS.Gridman is getting some new attention with the Australian distributor Madman Entertainment now scheduling a home video release. The distributor has set an April 15th, 2020 debut for it where there’ll be a standalone Blu-ray release as well as a DVD/BD Limited Edition release. Priced at $64.95 and $99.95 respectively, the limited edition will come with:

  • Limited Edition Packaging
  • 150-page art book including
  • Art cards
  • Acrylic keychain that can be converted into a bracelet
  • Sticker
  • SSSS.GRIDMAN: Behind the Gridman Alliance

The regular edition only has the Behind the Gridman Alliance on-disc bonus.

The series is directed by Akira Amemiya with scripts by Keiichi Hasegawa. Masayuki Gotou is credited with the Gridman design.

The English cast includes Brandon McInnis as Yuta, Robert McCollum as Gridman, Jill Harris as Rikka, Greg Ayres as Utsumi, Lindsay Seidel as Akane, and Barry Yandell as Alexis.

The Japanese cast includes Hikaru Midorikawa as GridmanYūya Hirose as Yūta Hibiki, Hikaru Midorikawa as Gridman, Sōma Saitō as Shō Utsumi, Yume Miyamoto as Rokka Takarada, Reina Ueda as Akane Shinjō, Tetsu Inada as Alexis Kerib, Ryousuke Takahashi as Samurai Caribar, Katsuyuki Konishi as Max, Aoi Yūki as Borar, Masaya Matsukaze as Vitt, Kenichi Suzumura as Mysterious Boy, Mayumi Shintani as Rikka Mama, Akari Kitō as Hassu, and Suzuko Mimori as Namiko.

Maaya Uchida is performing the ending theme song for the series with “youthful beautiful.”

Plot Concept: You’re not alone. On any day, anywhere. Yūta Hibiki, who is a first-year high school student living in Tsutsujidai, one day wakes up to find he has lost his memories. And he meets the “Hyper Agent Gridman” on his old computer. Gridman says that Yūta has a mission he must fulfill, and Yūta sets out to find the meaning to those words and his memory loss. Yūta’s friends — Shō Utsumi, Rikka Takarada, and Akane Shinjō — would always help him and spend their days with him. But, their tranquil days are suddenly and easily crushed with the appearance of kaijū.
