One series that seems to have done well for Netflix is The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. as the service rolled out the third season earlier back in March and was a somewhat rare one in that they didn’t dub it like they do most of their anime projects. The third season has now landed on the Netflix service where it’ll be a six-episode season that launched on December 30th, 2019 as a worldwide exclusive on the platform. This season corrects the dub problem as in addition to the original Japanese we also have German, English, Spanish, and French dubs along with English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles. The show also includes Japanese closed captions.

The English dub was produced by VSI Los Angeles

This season will go by the name of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Starting Arc in Japan but will be called Reawakened in English-speaking countries. Check out the new main character key visual below as well as headshot designs for the new cast additions.

The show was directed by Hiroaki Sakurai based on the series composition from Michiko Yokote. Masayuki Onji served as the character designs while JC Staff and Egg Firm will be handled the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya as Kusuo Saiki, Mitsuo Iwata as Kuniharu Saiki, Rikako Aikawa as Kurumi Saiki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shun Kaidou, Daisuke Ono as Riki Nendou, Yukari Tamura as Chiyo Yumehara, Ai Kayano as Kokomi Teruhashi, Satoshi Hino as Kenishi Hairo, Natsuki Hanae as Reita Toritsuka, Tomoaki Maeno as Makoyo Terukyo, Maaya Uchida as Chisato Meyro, Showtaro Morikubo as Uryoku Chouno and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Aren Kubayasu.

The manga comes from creator Shuichi Asou which began back in 2012 and has seventeen volumes published so far. It’s not been picked up for release outside of Japan (yet). A flash anime short-form series was produced in 2013 for it, which has a different cast than what this series will have. A light novel was also produced in 2013.

Plot concept: Saiki Kusuo has a wide array of superpowers at his command, including telepathy and telekinesis. This might sound awesome, but, in Kusuo’s experience, superpowers are not all they’re cracked up to be. He tries to live a normal life, despite his annoying abilities.
