A new attempt at bringing the Phantasy Star Online 2 game to anime form is underway with Episode Oracle set for an October 2019 debut. With an October 7th, 2019 debut set in Japan, Funimation will simulcast it on the same day. It’s looking like this is a limited streaming deal as no simuldub premiere date is indicated and it’s limited to the US and Canada.
The twenty-five episode series will have the first three episodes recompiling the story of “episodes 1-3” of the original game. The series is directed by Masaki Tachibana based on the series composition by Hiroshi Ohnogi. Shinpei Koikawa is handling the character designs while GONZO is handling the animation production with Felix Film working on the 3DCG.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Satomi Satou as Matoi
- Megumi Ogata as Xion
- Ryohei Kimura as Zeno
- Yōko Hikasa as Echo
- Takahiro Sakurai as Luther

- Kana Hanazawa as Melphonshina
Aimee Blackschleger will perform the opening song “Destiny” while the ending theme song “Timeless Fortune” is performed by Mika Arisaka.
