I'll admit, this may be close to winning SDCC for me already.

I’ll admit, this may be close to winning SDCC for me already. At their AGBO Studios panel at the convention today, Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that they’re developing an Amazon series for the Grimjack comics. The comics began in the 80s as part of the indie side as the direct market really started to grow and was published by First Comics. The series was created by John Ostrander and illustrated by Tim Truman but saw several other artists over the years and a few revivals along the way.

The Amazon series has the man behind Defiance writing it, Kevin Murphy. Similar to Deadly Class, this is a project that the Russo’s are producing on.

Plot Concept: This is the story of a mercenary and his crew who are forced to dig into their own pasts when Grimjack’s estranged teenage daughter comes to him looking for help. This will take them through the insane streets of Cynosure, a mysterious city where all parallel universes intersect. There, this unlikely team fights to save not just themselves, but all the planes of existence as we know it.

A mercenary in Cynosure, Gaunt rents out his sword-for-hire to clients – some good, some bad, some only out for themselves. Blacjacmac, The Goddess, Major Lash, the Lawkillers, Spook, Mayfair, Jericho, Bob the Watchlizard and the inevitable Gordon Munden, the guy who runs the fabled Munden’s Bar in the multidimensional world of Cynosure.
