The news earlier this year that Sony Pictures is setting things up for a Ghostbusters film new film has certainly been met with a range of responses. The property is coming back in 2020 with Jason Reitman directing and now some new casting is being teased with two actors being revealed as being in talks to join the production. The latest to be involved is Paul Rudd as he’s in talks to play a teacher in a small town within it.
The cast currently includes Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard along with Mckenna Grace.
This new film will follow events from the original story and serve as a “sequel” to the ’80s films and is not associated with the 2016 film.
The film is planned for summer 2020 with a firm date to come.
Reitman has co-written the film with Gil Kenan and production is set to begin in summer 2019. No casting has been revealed at this point for it.
