New ‘Dr. Stone’ Anime TV Spot Arrives

With Viz Media bringing out the Dr. Stone manga series from Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, the anime adaptation is set for its July 5th, 2019 debut. With Crunchyroll and Funimation both working on the show, the latest round of promotion has come in from TOHO as they’ve got a new TV spot that does the quick hit enticement to draw you into it. Shinya Iino directing based on the series composition by Yuichiro Kido. Yuko Iwasa is handling the character designs for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yusuke Kobayashi as Senku, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Ōki, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Yūichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Gen Sato as Chrome, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen, and Mugihito as Kaseki.

Plot Concept: One fateful day, all of humanity turned to stone. Many millennia later, Taiju frees himself from the petrification and finds himself surrounded by statues. The situation looks grim—until he runs into his science-loving friend Senku! Together they plan to restart civilization with the power of science!

When every human on Earth is turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon, high-schooler Taiju is also petrified the moment he’s about to confess to his high-school crush. Flash forward several thousands of years later, Taiju awakens and joins up with his friend Senku, who has ambitious dreams. His plan: to restart civilization from square one with the power of science!
