New ‘Hakubo’ Anime Trailer Debuts

1 min read
The film follows youths living in "the now and present" in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011.

Things are moving along with the Hakubo anime feature film from Yutaka Yamamoto that’s been crowdfunded. The film was set for a May 24th, 2019 debut at the Porepore Cinemas Iwaki Onahama earlier this year but the early screenings were pushed to a now planned wide June 21st, 2019 debut. And that means a new trailer has landed to showcase the film, though it’s more of a teaser with its length. With Yamamoto doing the original script and direction, Sunao Chikaoka is on board as the character designer for it and Twilight studio being listed as handling the animation.

The cast for the film includes Kana Hanazawa, Kaori Fukuhara, and Sumi Shimamoto as previously announced and now they’ve added Hiyori Sakurada as Sachi Koyama, Seichirō Katō as Yūsuke Kijinami, Hiro Shimono, and Ayane Sakura.

Plot Concept: The film follows youths living in “the now and present” in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011.
