Cartoon Network Shrinks Toonami Anime Block Again

1 min read
Toonami has now updated that as of February 16th, 2019, they'll be cutting back with another hour sliced off from it at the back end

While the expanded block we had for a good chunk of last year was doing decently in exposing some folks to anime at an earlier hour, the overall block saw a decrease when it came to new shows in the ratings. Last month saw the block shifting away from its 9pm start to an 11pm start once again with Dragon Ball Super leading off with new material as it’s in the 90-range of episodes now. Toonami has now updated that as of February 16th, 2019, they’ll be cutting back with another hour sliced off from it at the back end, reducing some of its repeat material. Which is for the best as this block should be updating with new shows far more regularly and just for a “cour” on a regular basis.

The new schedule will be:

11:00 p.m. – Dragon Ball Super
11:30 p.m. – Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
12:00 a.m. – My Hero Academia
12:30 a.m. – Sword Art Online: Alicization
1:00 a.m. – Megalobox
1:30 a.m. – JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
2:00 a.m. – Black Clover
2:30 a.m. – Hunter x Hunter
3:00 a.m. – Naruto Shippūden
3:30 a.m. – Attack on Titan
