Originally serialized in Comic X-Eros from the January 2019 installment, Little Black Flower is a twenty-two-page story from creator Izure, who has eleven other works on the service. This marked my second experience with this particular creator, something I wanted to keep up more with but had a hard time getting to reading as much as I wanted for a while. Izure’s appeal is in both character designs and the flow of the action while also having some fun story material that I enjoyed with their Promise chapter. So getting to take another dive into the world of Izure was completely up my alley.
The story is one that definitely goes down a path that’s not exactly mainstream but a pretty common kink. We’re introduced to high school senior Kuroshima, a pretty solid tennis player who isn’t like the other girls. While they’re mostly laid back types, just playing for fun, she has a bit more intensity about it. The latest practice is one that has her seeing one of the boys, Ogimichi, getting chewed out hard by the coach for a poor performance and that gets her to be sympathetic – at least that’s the idea at first. It’s cute watching them sitting off to the side as she shares her water and towel with him, teasing him playfully a bit. But when she comes back a minute or two afterward to retrieve her towel, the accusations fly of him sniffing her towel and more. Which leads to him being taken to the storage room where nobody will find them.
It’s in this small space that Kuroshima becomes her private adult self, dominating Ogimichi completely. She’s verbally abusive toward him and with him stripped down and on all fours before her, she begins a sequence of torment that arouses her intensely but also works very well for him as he realizes how much he enjoys being dominated. She pushes him to the edge well as she uses her foot, voice, smells, all of it in order to humiliate him which turns both of them on. It plays well for most of the chapter this way but we get a little twist toward the end when he takes a little control back and dominates her briefly. It’s not something that feels out of place in context to this – the guy isn’t going to know the rules at this point – and it puts her in a place where she has to get back at him in the future for it, especially since it worked far better for her than she expected. A pair of switches, perhaps?
In Summary
Little Black Flower is a fun bit of femdom material where Kuroshima gets what she’s looking for and discovers a little more along the way. Izure sets this up well with a fun opening couple of pages showing the two characters together in a normal environment and some good playfulness as well which sets the mood nicely going into it. So when it shifts atmosphere once inside the storage room and then again when Ogimichi becomes more forward, it feels more fully realized. Izure’s artwork is the big draw here, however, with some great looking designs and a really good playfulness about it that clicks well.
