As we learned earlier this week, Sony Pictures is setting things up for a Ghostbusters film new film. The property is coming back in 2020 with Jason Reitman directing, which is a nice bit of continuity with his father having been in the original and involved in just about every layer of it back in 1984. That news was then followed up with last night with a new teaser trailer for it, which isn’t a lot but you know it’ll hit the right buttons for fans of the original film and get them on board.

This new film will follow events from the original story and serve as a “sequel” to the ’80s films and is not associated with the 2016 film.

The film is planned for summer 2020 with a firm date to come.

Reitman has co-written the film with Gil Kenan and production is set to begin in summer 2019. No casting has been revealed at this point for it.
