Viz Media Schedules ‘Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission’ Theatrical Anime Release

Viz Media recently scheduled the Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission property for a home video release and now they’re doing a limited theatrical run for it. The distributor has set screenings through CineLife Entertainment with its run beginning on January 30th, 2019 where there will be both subtitled and dubbed presentations for it. A new trailer was revealed for it as well that you can see below.

The home video release for the film is set for a March 12th, 2019 debut where it’ll get a DVD and a DVD/BD combo release. The DVD comes with Japanese Movie Premiere and Japanese Cast Interviews while the Blu-ray comes with some English Cast Interviews and an Art Gallery. The DVD will be priced at $19.98 and the combo release at $29.98

Plot concept: Gon and his friends Killua, Kurapika and Leorio, go to see the Battle Olympia tournament at Heavens Arena. The arena is packed with spectators comprised of Hunters and VIPs, when there’s an unexpected raid by an armed group called The Shadow. The VIPs’ bodyguards don’t have a chance against the group’s leader, Jed, who was believed to be long dead. His goal is to avenge the murder of his clan, by the Hunter Association. Jed declares death to all Hunters, as he captures Netero and seizes Heaves Arena with On, the dark power derived from malice. In order to rescue Netero, Gon must defeat Jed and his powerful On.
