We got the basic details back in August for the Hoshiai no Sora, aka Star-Crossing Skies series that Kazuki Akane has talked a few times over the year. Being produced with studio 8-Bit as a new original work, the official site has updated to reveal a new promotional video for it. The new project is being planned for a 2019 debut with Kazuki Akane directing it and writing the scripts while Yuichi Takahashi is working on the character designs based on Itsuka’s original work. Takahashi is also serving as the animation director for the project as well.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Natsuki Hanae as Maki Katsuragi
- Tasuku Hatanaka as Toma Shinjo

Plot Concept: The series deals with the coming-of-age of boys in a junior high school’s soft tennis team, which is on the verge of shutting down. In the video above, the character Tōma Shinjō asks Maki Katsuragi to join the team for his vaunted abilities, and mentions a summer competition. Katsuragi asks for money in return for joining the team.
