It’s been almost a year since back in January that the Grimms Notes game Square Enix revealed that it was getting an anime adaptation. The first promo released previously revealed a January 10th, 2019 debut on TBS and now a second promo has been released that gives us a good taste of the opening and closing theme songs split across it.

The latest update also gave us some new character casting reveals with:

  • Takahiro Mizushima as Loki
  • Sumire Uesaka as Curly

Seiki Sugawara is directing it based on the series composition by Hiroshi Yamaguchi. Kentaro Matsumoto is handling the character designs with Brain’s Base working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast so far includes Ryota Ohsaka as Ekusu, Reina Ueda as Reina, Miyu Kubota as Shane,  and Takuya Eguchi as Tao.

Ayana Taketatsu is going to handle the opening theme song “Innocent Notes” for the series while i☆Ris is set to perform ending theme song “Endless Notes,” which isn’t too much of a surprise as one of the members, Miyu Kubota, is in the series itself.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: The game revolves around the adventure of players with a given book that tells their fate in the world created by “Storytellers” and these people must fight against “Chaos Tellers” who overwrite their books with bad events.
