GKIDS Streams Another ‘Mirai’ Dubbed Anime Clip

2 min read

With the Mirai of the Future out in Japan this past summer the international side is continuing to expand both in location and style. While Anime Limited brought it out dubbed and subtitled already for UK audiences, GKIDS and Fathom Events are bringing it out in North America toward the end of November with it playing subtitled on the November 29th and December 5th. They also have a dubbed showing on December 8th. GKIDS previously brought out their first dubbed trailer live that gives us a taste of how it works as well as a few clips and are now building on that with one more.

The English cast includes:

  • Victoria Grace as Mirai
  • John Cho as The Father
  • Rebecca Hall as The Mother
  • Daniel Dae Kim as The Great-Grandfather

Hosoda wrote and directed the film with Hiroyuki Aoyama and Ayako Hata serving as the animation directors. Studio Chizu has handled the animation production and we’ve got a brief teaser for it below.

The Japanese cast includes Moka Kamishiraishi as Kun-chan, Haru Kuroki as Mirai-chan, Yoshiko Miyazaki as Grandmother, Gen Hoshino as Father, Kōji Yakusho as Grandfather, Kumiko Asou as Mother, and Mitsuo Yoshihara as Mysterious Man.

Plot Concept: When four-year-old Kun meets his new baby sister, his world is turned upside down. Named Mirai (meaning “future”), the baby quickly wins the hearts of Kun’s entire family. As his mother returns to work, and his father struggles to run the household, Kun becomes increasingly jealous of baby Mirai… until one day he storms off into the garden, where he encounters strange guests from the past and future – including his sister Mirai, as a teenager. Together, Kun and teenage Mirai go on a journey through time and space, uncovering their family’s incredible story. But why did Mirai come from the future?
