‘Legend of Zelda’ TV Series In Development

2 min read

One property that continues to surprise that it hasn’t gone full on multimedia in a big way it’s the Legend of Zelda. While we do see strong sales of the manga there’s not much beyond that outside of the merch side. Now, it looks like the project is getting a TV adaptation of some sort as Adi Shankar of Castlevania on Netflix teased their involvement as a producer in the project.

Shankar has revealed that he’s “working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their iconic video game series into a series.” His intent is for a November 16th, 2018 reveal of the project and The Wrap followed it up with more. There obviously aren’t any details yet as to the type but it could be an interesting project regardless of the medium.

Property Concept: In the mystical land of Hyrule, three spiritual stones hold the key to the Triforce, and whoever holds them will control the world. A boy named Link sets out on a quest to deliver the Emerald, the spiritual stone of the forest, to Zelda, Princess of the land of Hyrule. The journey will be long and perilous, and Link will need all his skill and courage to defeat evil. The battle for Hyrule and the Sacred Realm has begun!
