Viz Media Sets ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ Digital Manga Sale

2 min read

As the new Tokyo Ghoul:re anime adaptation gets underway as part of the fall 2018 season with its second half, Viz Media is looking to capitalize on those that want the full and original story as well. The publisher has set the first series that ran for fourteen volumes on sale through digital outlets where volumes are priced at $6.99 each while also including the six volumes that they’ve released so far with the sequel series. With these normally being oversized print releases, this shaves a few bucks off the usual backlist priced of $8.99 and will give you the entire first run as written and illustrated by Sui Ishida that leads into the new anime series as well as dabbling into the next series!

The sale runs through October 29th, 2018.

Plot Concept: In modern day Tokyo, society lives in fear of Ghouls: mysterious creatures who look exactly like humans, yet hunger insatiably for their flesh. None of this matters to Ken Kaneki, a bookish and ordinary young man, until a dark and violent encounter turns him into the first ever Ghoul-human half breed. Trapped between two worlds, Ken must survive the violent conflicts of warring Ghoul factions, while attempting to learn more about Ghoul society, his newfound powers, and the fine line between man and monster.
