Warner Bros. had previously set a release date of February 14th, 2020 for an untitled Margot Robbie film but that’s now been shifted and formally listed as Birds of Prey with a February 7th, 2020 release. This isn’t a surprise as the next James Bond film got set for the 14th and there’s an untitled live-action Disney film scheduled for then as well.
The film doesn’t have a lot of detail at the moment beyond Cath yan directing it and Margot Robbie reprising her role of Harley Quinn. There’s a range of shortlists looking at casting for the parts of Black Canary, Huntress, and Renee Montoya out there as well.
The Birds of Prey team has varied over the years to some degree, but the one that has been the most defined and sought after involves the team put together by Writer Gail Simone, which included Oracle/Babara Gordon, Black Canary/Dinah Lance and Huntress. There’ve been more over the years and different levels of participation amongst the members but it’s long been a fan favorite. Check out the full group history here.
