‘Ingress’ Anime Premiere Schedule & More Cast Reveals

2 min read

The official site for the anime adaptation of the Ingress AR app has updated a bit, which is welcome after it had some conflicting month information before. The site has now confirmed an October 17th, 2018 debut for the series while also bringing out some additional cast below. The series has Yuhei Sakuragi directing it with Yoshinari Irikawa as the assistant director. Scripts are being done by Soki Tsukishima and Tora Tsukishima while Takeshi Honda is being listed as working on the original character designs and we might still see someone listed as involved in adapting them for animation.

The newly announced cast include:

  • Tarusuke Shingaki as Christopher Brandt
  • Kousuke Toriumi as Liu Tien Hua
  • Kentarou Tone as Zion Kunikida

The previously announced Japanese cast includes:

  • Yoshiki Nakajima as Makoto
  • Reina Ueda as Sarah
  • Shigeo Kiyama as Jack
  • Megumi Ogata as Artificial Intelligence ADA

The series is being produced with Craftar animating it as part of the new +Ultra programming block that the network is bringing out. It looks like this block is being done as a 30-minute piece with a series of shorts within it, which we’re definitely interested in seeing more of.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Game Concept:  Since he was little, Makoto had a strange power which enabled him to read the memories of objects he touched. Hiding his uncontrollable power, he works as a special agent in the police force. One day, while investigating an explosion at a laboratory that researches a unknown substance called “XM”, he sees a mysterious memory. The memory was from Sarah’s ring, who was the sole survivor of the accident. It was a sight of a person being swallowed into a red light and disappearing. Makoto becomes embroiled in a massive conspiracy. The battle for “XM”, a material that could affect human mind, starts now.
