What They Say:
The year is 1555, the middle of the Warring States period, and one young man holds on to a very big dream. That young man, known as an empty-headed fool, is none other than Oda Nobunaga. Enchanted by his dream, a certain young girl who admires Nobunaga swears that she will become his ninja one day. Nobunaga has one goal: to unify Japan by military might! Decorated by a colorful cast of characters, including the airheaded Kichou, the errand boy Hideyoshi, the tsundere Nene, the straight man Mitsuhide, and the half-dead Hanbei, this heavy-hitting wartime gag anime is about to begin!!

This arc with Kennyo has had its moments where it’s worked for me largely in watching Kennyo and those around him. The battleground side of it is a delight to watch in terms of action but there are simply so many characters and it moves so quickly with so many quick hit moments that I can’t really keep track of who is who anymore. We see Chidori doing her best to get back into the thick of things here but struggling with that, especially due to some problematic locals, but it’s a decent sequence overall as we see the fight play out and Chidori witnessing some good moments. But she also has a good track on things in general and proves herself to be useful through some conniving ways that certainly left me grinning.

In Summary:
This arc isn’t doing much for me and that’s happened a couple of times over the series run in general, so it doesn’t bother me much. The Chidori moments are delightful and I do wish there were a few Kennyo moments in here for his shiny head. The action is good but it’s just too spastically quick at this point to really come across well with all the quick cuts and shifts. It’s not bad but it’s just not holding my attention right now.
