Calico Tapio Chatorazawa, who’s got more energy than anyone, Russian Blue Kuehiko Roshihara’s a bit of a sourpuss. These two classmates will do all kinds of different jobs to learn how fun and hard it is to work!

With one more episode to go before the end, this one puts us near Christmas and that has the pair working at a cake shop. Tapio is ideal for being outside in the costume but the boss has him going inside to help out Kuehiko. He’s doing some good kitchen duty here in slicing strawberries and other chores and trying to keep Tapio on track, which is always fun to watch the dynamic between the two. But things take a darker turn after work as Kuehiko doesn’t want to hang out as he’s meeting Pekko and giving her a present. We get some fun stuff seeing how Kuehiko thinks of others and handles lots of stuff at home which works well to give him a bit more personality.
In Summary:
The heavier focus on Kuehiko is definitely nice to see here as he does well by his family, taking care of his mother and sister in simple ways and seeing the concern from his mother. It was also welcome to have it not be quite so much an actual buddy episode as the two split apart early on after the job and have their own things to deal with. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the finale in hoping that we get a little bit more work but more fun instead.
