After bringing out the Record of Lodoss War OVA collection back in 2013 in Japan for just under 40,000 yen, Kadokawa is back with a priced-down re-release standard edition version. This one is set for an August 24th, 2018 debut where it’ll be priced at 12,000 yen. It’s being done as a two-disc edition and includes promos/commercials as the bonus material. Based on the original work by Ryo Mizuno and Hitoshi Yasuda, the OVA series was directed by Akinori Nagaoka based n the series composition by Mami Watanabe. Nobuteru Yuki and Yutaka Izubuchi handled the character designs.
The Japanese OVA cast includes Takeshi Kusao as Parn, Yumi Touma as Deedlit, Hideyuki Tanaka as Slayn, Kappei Yamaguchi as Etoh, Norio Wakamoto as Woodchuck, Yoshiko Sakakibara as Karla andYoshisada Sakaguchi as Ghim.
Plot concept: Born to a banished knight in a land torn by war, young Parn and a ragtag team of adventurers set out to restore peace to the island of Lodoss. But the path is not an easy one. Presiding over all is the Grey Witch, whose bent for neutrality gives the heroes no peace. Meanwhile, in the cursed land of Marmo, an evil sorcerer seeks the destructive power of an ancient goddess. The ensuing battles cost the lives of many a friend and foe, until a brave new generation of heroes rises to face the sinister enemies once and for all.
