Aniplex USA Schedules ‘Granblue Fantasy’ First Season Anime Blu-ray Releases

Fans of the recent Granblue Fantasy anime series won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on it as Aniplex USA has now scheduled it. The twelve episode series that has two bonus episodes are being set for two releases with seven episodes each where it’ll be in Japanese with English subtitles as well as getting an English language dub. Priced at $79.98, the first set arrives on May 15th, 2018 and includes a soundtrack CD, deluxe booklet, illustration cards, and on-disc extras of the clean opening and closing. The second set arrives on July 17th, 2018 priced the same and includes a soundtrack CD as well along with another booklet and more illustration cards.

The first series had Yuuki Itou directing with Toshifumi Akai handling the character designs for it. With A-1 Pictures on the animation itself, we also know that Nobue Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita are handling the music. The opening theme song is “GO” by BUMP OF CHICKEN.

The Japanese cast includes Yuuki Ono as Glan, Nao Touyama as Ruria, Rie Kugimiya as Bii and Miyuki Sawashiro as Kataria.

Plot Concept: This is a world of the skies, where many islands drift in the sky. A boy named Gran and a speaking winged lizard named Vyrn lived in Zinkenstill, an island which yields mysteries. One day, they come across a girl named Lyria. Lyria had escaped from the Erste Empire, a military government that is trying to rule over this world using powerful military prowess. Gran and Lyria, in order to escape from the Empire, head out into the vast skies, holding the letter Gran’s father left behind – which said, “I will be waiting at Estalucia, Island of the Astrals”
