The upcoming anime adaptation of the mobile game Uma Musume: Pretty Derby has a decent update as a new key visual has landed alongside a commercial and some cast information. Set for an April debut as part of the spring 2018 season, we don’t have full details yet on a date but apparently the opening episode is an hour – which means there’s likely a live cast section included. We’ve also got the cast announcements which gives us some amusing character names with:

- Marika Kōno as Silence Suzuka
- Machico as Tōkai Teiō
- Ayaka Ohashi as Vodka
- Chisa Kimura as Daiwa Scarlet
- Hitomi Ueda as Gold Ship
- Saori Ōnishi as Mejiro McQueen
- Yukiyo Fujii as Tazuna Hayakawa
- Kōji Okino as Trainer
- Megumi Toyoguchi as Hana Tōjō
Tomoaki Oota is on board as the supportive director with Kei Oikawa as the main director as they work from the scripts by Masafumi Sugiura and Akihiro Ishihara. Yousuke Kashima is serving as character designer and chief animation director.
The opening theme song is “Make Debut!” while “Glow Up Shine!” is the ending theme song.
Game Concept: Uma Musume (Horse Girls), girls endowed with excellent running capability, aim to become top idols and compete in the national sports entertainment show “Twinkle Series.”
