With a now worldwide box office of $704 million since its debut on February 16th, 2018, it’s definitely good to be Black Panther right now. The Marvel Studios film added a lot of coin over the week with almost $100 million across it and this weekend saw it add another $108 million to bring its domestic take to $400 million, making it tied with Jurassic World in the fastest to hit that level domestically. It’s the fifth highest grossing film in the MCU and will pass Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3 today as those are at $408 and $409 respectively. It’s also within the top thirty domestic releases of all time after ten days.

Internationally, it’s at $304 million total where thi sweekend did $83 million with Russia bringing in $2.6 million in limited IMAX and Deluxe releases before going wide today. The UK is still the biggets so far overseas with $41 million and we’re really curious to see how it does on March 9th when it opens in China.

Of the new films this weekend, Game Night did pretty solid with a $16 million debut that’ll do okay over the next couple of weeks with its $37 million budget, which it’ll likely surpass but not by much. And, unsurprisingly, the debut of Annihilation was about as low as expected with an $11 million take a terrible “C” CinemaScore. It’s getting good critical reception but it’s not translating well into something with the public.

Next weekend has two films going wide with Death Wish attempting to arrive again – and just like we said when it was delayed after gun violence the last time, it’s going to land amid more gun violence. The other film that should do well is Red Sparrow as that opens in 2,900 screens.
