We had the good news back in September that the Magical Girl Site manga, which is seeing release from Seven Seas Entertainment here, is now slated for a TV anime adaptation. The show has now been set for the spring 2018 season and the site has revealed that Tadahito Matsubayashi will be directing it based on the series composition by Takayo Ikami. Production doA is on board for the animation after recently working on their first main project with Is the order a rabbit?? Dear My Sister.
The book comes from Kentarou Satou and began serialization in Champion Tap! back in July 2013 before shifting to a bigger magazine with Weekly Shounen Champion in the fall of 2017.
Plot Concept: Asagiri Aya is a young girl who has fallen victim to bullies at her school. Looking for a way to escape her troubles, she looks to the internet for distraction, when a mysterious website called “Magical Girl Site” appears. Simply viewing the page is all it takes to hurtle Aya headlong into the deadly world of the Magical Girl Apocalypse. There, it’s fight or die, against a seemingly endless array of savagely adorable, frilly-skirted killing machines, each armed with magical powers and an unquenchable thirst for blood and chaos.
