It looks like the Aoharu x Machinegun anime series has found itself some additional distribution as Madman Entertainment out of Australia has picked up the rights to the property. They’ve solicited a February 8th, 2017 release for the single-cour show, but it looks like it’s getting a DVD-only release priced at $59.95 for the bilingual run.

The series was directed by Hideaki Nakano based on the scripts by Kenji Konuta. Character designs were done by Junko Yamanaka, who also served as chief animation director. The animation was produced at Brains Base.
The cast includes Mikako Komatsu as Hotaru Tachibana, Tomoaki Maeno as Masamune Matsuoka, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tohru Yukimura, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Nagamasa Midori, Eri Kitamura as Ichi Akabane, Ryohei Kimura as Takatora Fujimoto and Yui Horie as Kanae Yajima.
The property is NAOE’s first work, which started off as a one-shot that appeared in Gangan Online back in the summer of 2011 and then spent some time being reworked into an ongoing series, which kicked off in the summer of 2012 in GFantasy magazine.
Plot concept: When Hotaru Tachibana storms into a host club to avenge the honor of a wronged female student, the last thing Hotaru expects is to duel the club’s most popular host with airsoft guns instead of fists. When Masamune Matsuoka’s experience wins out over Tachibana’s brawn, he realizes that he can use his victory (and the large bill for damaging the club) to make Tachibana join his struggling Survival Gaming team. However, what ladies’ man Masamune totally misses is that his unwilling new guy… isn’t a guy at all! Under the boy’s clothing and strong need to defend justice, Tachibana is all-girl, but, for a number of complicated reasons, she absolutely CAN’T expose that fact to Masamune or his teammate, the erotic manga artist Toru Yukimura. Blood will boil both on and off the airsoft arena, but it’s not over until the last round is shot in AOHARU X MACHINEGUN!
