2 min read

PreacherThere’s a good bit of anticipation over the new comic book TV series Preacher arriving on May 22nd, 2016 and DC Comics is looking to draw folks into the comics a bit more as well. They’ve put together a look at their top ten moments from the series that showcases just how much of a badass these guys are and just how cruel they can be. The whole counting the sands piece alone was something that just creeped me the hell out back in the day.

Keep in mind there are pretty much potential spoilers in here.

The series ran from 1995 to 2000 for sixty-six issues as written by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon with some beautiful covers from Glenn Fabry under the Vertigo imprint.

Series Concept: Merging with a bizarre spiritual force called Genesis, Texan Preacher Jesse Custer becomes completely disillusioned with the beliefs that he had dedicated his entire life to. Now possessing the power of “the word,” an ability to make people do whatever he utters, Custer begins a violent and riotous journey across the country. Joined by his gun-toting girlfriend Tulip and the hard drinking Irish vampire Cassidy, the Preacher loses faith in both man and God as he witnesses dark atrocities and improbable calamities during his exploration of America.
